THE HOTEL LIFSHIN IS NOT OPENING ITS DOORS

 

any New Years from

now on. It's had

enough of drunks

knifing holes in the

carpet, walls, in

the hotel's psyche.

It's had enough

abuse, enough

complaints about bent

spoons, it is sick

of people snooping

where they shouldn't

stealing autographed

copies of books

no longer in print.

It's just a chore,

wiping up and

wiping after, polish-

ing her smile just

to be used as a dart

board. The hotel is

worn out, is sick

of being stepped all

over, feeling

it's most precious

spaces are just used

as a door mat
